Question: 1. What are the modular tiles of OSTA tm made of? Are there any harmful impurities based on zinc or lead added to modular floor, as the same impurities are added by manufactures of plastic window profiles?

Answer:

For OSTA industrial modular floor a special plastic was developed. The PVC formula includes only safe components and can be used in Ukraine, such as: PVC polymer - a product of synthesis from oil and rock salt, a DOP plasticizer (the chemical element has low volatility), stabilizers are not containing lead, zinc and non-toxic fire retardants. The products passed certification in the State Ukrainian Research Institute of Building Materials and Products, and received a certificate of compliance issued by the State Certification System “UkrSEPRO”. Modular coating is durable, has a long term exploitation and ideal for industrial premises. PVC tiles have noise insulation and absorb noise during the production processes. For example, the fall of a metal tool on the floor is almost noiselessly. The modular floor is chemically inert. High quality PVC tiles has resistance to oil and petrol liquids. The chemical inertness of polyvinylchloride prevents the damage influence of dilute acids, alkalis and solvents. The flooring has additional thermal insulation.

Question: 2. Why OSTA modular floor are recommended to be installed in industrial premises, rather than other flooring.

Answer:

The main criterion before choose the flooring is strength and durability, especially where a lot of people pass by or work loaders.  As a rule, when we choose the product we all think of price and quality, but it is not easy to find “the golden mean”. It is necessary to take into account not only the type of premise. But also should be counted the weight stress on the floor, humidity level, the temperature in the premise. There is technique and equipment in the industrial premises, these factors increase operating load on the floor. Certain industrial characteristics leave not so many options. What kinds of flooring are better for industrial premises? Among them are:

• the concrete screed
• the concrete screed with topping
• industrial linoleum

  Self-leveling polymeric floor. Perhaps it is the most common type of flooring for warehouses and industrial premises. The high molecular weight composition of this coating is characterized by a high coupling of the molecules, so these molecules more durable than the concrete. Industrial premises must have resistance to loads. Also the flooring should have waterproofing and increased thickness characteristics. The following technical requirements lead to a significant increase in cost for a square meter of floor. Durability of the self-leveling polymeric floor is not good in comparison with modern coatings.   The concrete screed with topping - is a concrete screed floor with a special surface strength. It is hardened concrete with certain reinforcing dry mixtures and applying by a thin layer of lacquer-membranes. The flooring uses in industrial premises where work heavy loaders in: production facilities, warehouses, shopping complexes and parking lots. Nevertheless, the concrete screed floor with topping has weaknesses. The most obvious it is destroying of the upper layer. With a span of time, irregularities and cracks appear on the surface of the concrete floor. This kind of floor is not suitable for rooms with high humidity and places where the possibility of chemical reagents exposure exists.   The industrial linoleum. Despite the fact that modern industrial linoleum can be used in rooms with high loads, the flooring is not recommended for use in industries with high humidity (where there is water). For example, in: dairies, breweries and meat processing plants. Industrial linoleum can be laid on a dry flat surface. The humidity of the base for industrial linoleum should be less than 5%, ideally 2%. If the base doesn’t flat and you don’t see the feasibility of covering, in this case, it is better to use other flooring instead of industrial linoleum. Since the cost to prepare the base for industrial linoleum will increase the price of the already expensive coating.   PVC tiles of OSTA company - flooring that has all necessary properties for industrial premises. Question: 3. How to prepare the surface before the installation of the modular floor?

Answer:

Installation of OSTA modular floor can be made on any flat surface, even on the inclined surface. The installation of OSTA modular floor doesn’t need special preparation of the base. Thanks to unique connection system of tiles between each other with special lock "SHIP-PAZ". OSTA floor can be installed on such bases, as: concrete screed, asphalt, crushed stone, soil. Installation of the modular floor on sand or ground, should has 5 - 15 centimeter base are made of small gravel or cheap granulated crushed stone. You should take into account - future loads on the installed PVC floor and quality of the material of the base. If you decide to install the modular floor on the existing base, you don’t need to clean the surface from: sealant, paint, glue, oil stains, contaminants or change the existing base. Such luxury cannot be afforded if you decide to make the new self-leveling floor or the concrete screed floor. OSTA modular tiles have a special structure, so that all the above said defects cannot be an obstacle for the installation of the floor. Before the installation of the floor, it is necessary to:

• remove from the base protruding elements, such as: metal dowels, crutches, strips, rails and others, if any;

• fill with a strong cement mortar: voids, holes, cracks and other;

• Sweep off from the floor the remaining contamination, such as: sand, shavings, construction garbage.

Question: 4. Is it possible to purchase the modular floor TM OSTA without the installation service?

Answer:

Yes it is possible. Installation of OSTA modular floor is easy, no special skills are required. And in reality even unskilled person can install the square meter of the modular floor in less than a minute. Special lock "SHIP-PAZ" allows connecting the tiles between each other and there is no need to use other fastening materials, such as: glue, cement or nails. The installations of tiles is simple, just make a checkerboard or mosaic pattern of the tiles on the ground and fix the tiles with a hit of the mallet - the floor is ready! Question: 5. How many square meters of OSTA modular floor can be installed by the company engineers for a shift and what does "quality" installation mean? Does only technical engineer can manage the job?

Answer:

If there is no additional time to prepare the base for installation of the modular floor. Three technical engineers of the company for 8-hours shift can install up to 150 sq.m of the floor. The work includes: cutting the modular tiles to bypass obstacles, arranging the thresholds for arrivals inside the premises. Question: 6. Is it possible to dismantle OSTA modular tiles and reuse the dismantled tiles? Does it possible to change the damaged tile in the middle of the installed floor?

Answer:

The main advantage of OSTA modular floor is the ability to perform both installation and dismantling of the floor without stoppage of the production. Specially designed lock "SHIP-PAZ" in OSTA modular tiles allows dismantling and reinstalling the tiles in other room. And you don’t need to do additional technical preparation before re-installation of the modular tiles (see above). Also should be noted that all OSTA modular tiles are interchangeable. OSTA modular floor has a resistance both to moisture and mechanical damage. Therefore, in the process of exploitation the damage of the floor is low and there won’t be a need to change the whole floor or replacing the damaged tiles. But anyway if in the process of exploitation in the middle of installed floor you will find the damaged part, you don’t need to change the whole material but only the damaged part.

Question: 7. What is the proper exploitation of OSTA tm modular floor?

Answer:

OSTA modular floor requires minimal maintenance work. Regular cleaning of the modular floor from:  metal shavings, construction debris, spilled oils and other large particles. For wet cleaning, you can use detergents or dissolved washing powder. In case of presence of oil stains, degreasing detergents should be used.

Question: 8. Can OSTA modular floor be installed in food processing plants? How to achieve strict requirements before the installation of the floor in food manufacturing plants?

Answer:

It is obvious the PVC modular floor in food production premises is in the most difficult operating conditions. The flooring exposed to: aggressive liquids, loads, people's movement and moving loaders. Thus, industrial floors in the food production premises must meet specific requirements. There are many bacteria and microorganisms in the food production premises. In the process of cleaning the premises with brushes and specialized machines, the microorganisms transporting in steam, air or fill up the micro cracks in the floor and then enter open food products. The pathogenic microorganisms in food products can affect the quality of products and could be dangerous to humans. According to up to date statistical research 20% of production accidents happen because of the wet floor. The surface of the floor in the food industry must be: waterproof, wear-resistant, chemically inert, non-toxic and the floor must be made of easy cleaning material. Question: 9. Is it possible to install OSTA modular floor in open spaces (terraces, balconies, children playgrounds and sports fields)?

Answer:

Yes it is possible. OSTA, PVC modular tiles have certain technical characteristics. The floor can be installed in different areas, such as: access roads for motor vehicles, for containers, on construction and demonstration sites, in exhibition, shopping areas and markets, on parking lots, helicopter platforms, piers, boathouses, freight piers in ports, city stadiums and as removable floor for any mass events.

Question: 10. Is it possible to use the modular floor OSTA simultaneously with the "warm floor" technology?

Answer:
